Idaho Code § 48-1003C

Automatic dialing-announcing device

Known as the Idaho Telephone Solicitation Act

The act spans §§ 48–48 (13 sections).

(1) When a person intends to utilize an automatic dialing-announcing device to send a message by using or connecting to a telephone line, the person must, at the outset of the message, disclose the following: The name of the person for whom the message is being made;

(2) The purpose of the message; and

(3) The contact information of the caller.

(4) As used in this section: “Automatic dialing-announcing device” means a device that selects and dials telephone numbers and that, working alone or in conjunction with other equipment, disseminates a prerecorded or synthesized voice message to the telephone number called.

(5) “Caller” means a person who contacts, or attempts to contact, a subscriber in this state by using an automatic dialing-announcing device.

(6) “Subscriber” means a person who has subscribed to telephone service from a telephone company, or other persons living or residing with the subscribing person.
