(1) The board shall determine the subjects of examination for applicants for licensure as nursing home administrators and the scope, content, and format of such examinations which in any examination shall be the same for all candidates; except that such examination shall include examination of the applicant to demonstrate his proficiency in the practice of, and knowledge of, applicable rules of health and safety within the state.
(2) Examinations shall be held at least semi-annually at such times and places as the board shall designate.
