In addition to the other licensure requirements of this chapter, the board may require by rule and regulation that graduates of medical schools located outside of the United States and Canada provide additional information to the board concerning the medical school attended. The board may also require such graduates to take an additional examination. The board may refuse to issue a license to an applicant who graduated from a medical school located outside of the United States and Canada if it finds that such applicant does not possess the requisite qualifications to provide the same standard of health care as provided by licensed physicians in this state.
