Idaho Code § 54-2106

Emergency veterinary facilities — On-call emergency services — Requirements

Known as the Idaho Veterinary Practice Act

The act spans §§ 54-2101 to 54-2121 (23 sections).

The following requirements shall apply to:

(1) Emergency veterinary facilities: All advertisements for such facilities shall specify and clearly state the hours of operation and the address and telephone number of the facility; and

(2) At least one (1) veterinarian and a qualified staff member shall be on the premises during all stated hours of operation. A sufficient quantity of instrumentation, medications and supplies, and sufficient number of additional veterinarian(s) and support staff, as required to provide an appropriate level of emergency care, shall be on the premises during all stated hours of operation.

(3) On-call emergency services: All advertisements for such services shall specify and clearly state that the emergency services are provided on an on-call basis and that there is no veterinarian on premises other than during regular hours of operation; and

(4) Shall not be advertised as an emergency veterinary facility.
