Idaho Code § 54-3706

Requirements for licensure

A person applying for a license as an occupational therapist or as an occupational therapy assistant shall file a written application provided by the board showing to the satisfaction of the board that such person meets the following requirements:

(1) Education: Applicant shall present evidence satisfactory to the board of having successfully completed the academic requirements of an educational program in occupational therapy that is accredited by the American occupational therapy association’s accreditation council for occupational therapy education (ACOTE) or predecessor or a successor organization as established in rule and approved by the licensure board.

(2) Experience: Applicant shall submit to the licensure board evidence of having successfully completed a period of supervised fieldwork experience acceptable to the board, which period of fieldwork experience shall be: For an occupational therapist, a minimum of six (6) months of supervised fieldwork experience; or

(3) For an occupational therapy assistant, a minimum of four (4) months of supervised fieldwork experience.

(4) Examination: An applicant for licensure as an occupational therapist or as an occupational therapy assistant shall pass an examination as provided for in section 54-3708, Idaho Code.

(5) Is in good standing.
