To ensure positive identification and system integrity, criminal history records shall be supported by fingerprints, which may be maintained manually, electronically or on optical disk. The records shall be linked to an automated fingerprint identification system. For the purpose of including prescribed information categories, the system may be linked with databases maintained by other state agencies. Whenever possible, the reporting of information by criminal justice agencies relating to the categories identified in section 67-3001(4), Idaho Code, shall be conducted electronically or by magnetic medium. Any technology used in this process will conform to the standards, guidelines and conventions established by the Idaho technology authority.
