Known as the State Universities Civil Service Act

The act spans §§ 110-70-0-01 to 110-70-46 (31 sections).

Laws 1951, p. 1289.

(1) The Merit Board shall have power to prescribe different ranges or rates of compensation for different places of employment within the State. In approving regional scales of compensation the Merit Board shall take into account the rate of compensation generally paid for similar work in the locality in which the work is to be performed. (2) The Merit Board shall authorize separate registers for each of the agencies, institutions and places of employment covered by the University System, and an applicant who has received a passing grade on any examination may request that his name be placed on the register for any institution or place of employment in the appropriate classification or on all of the registers in that classification.
