On and after the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 100th General Assembly, the Director shall not appoint auxiliary State policemen. The Line of Duty Compensation Act shall be applicable to auxiliary State policemen appointed before this amendatory Act of the 100th General Assembly upon their death in the line of duty.
