Communications

Known as the Illinois Emergency Management Agency Act

The Illinois Emergency Management Agency shall ascertain what means exist for rapid and efficient communications in times of disaster. The Illinois Emergency Management Agency shall consider the desirability of supplementing these communications resources or of integrating them into a comprehensive State or State-Federal telecommunications or other communications system or network. In studying the character and feasibility of any system or its several parts, the Illinois Emergency Management Agency shall evaluate the possibility of multipurpose use thereof for general State and political subdivision purposes. The Illinois Emergency Management Agency may promulgate rules to establish policies and procedures relating to telecommunications and the continuation of rapid and efficient communications in times of disaster to the extent authorized by any provision of this Act or other laws and regulations. The Illinois Emergency Management Agency shall make recommendations to the Governor as appropriate.
