Loans to single individuals

Known as the Illinois Banking Act

The act spans §§ 205-5-1 to 205-5-9-5 (121 sections).

(a) For purposes of this Section, "single" means not currently married. (b) No State bank shall require that single individuals who have reached the age of majority to whom loans are made have cosigners on promissory notes negotiated to secure such loans unless such bank shall, under the same or similar circumstances, also require that single males who have reached the age of majority have cosigners on promissory notes negotiated to secure loans.
