225 ILCS 345/1.5

It has been established that there is an ever increasing shortage of water in this State and that improperly installed water wells, pumps and related equipment can endanger the public health

Known as the Water Well and Pump Installation Contractor's License Act

The act spans §§ 225-345-1 to 225-345-9 (29 sections).

Consistent with its duty to protect the public health and welfare of this State, and to insure the development of the natural resource of underground water in an orderly and sanitary manner, the General Assembly hereby declares that the licensing of Water Well Contractors and Water Well Pump Installation Contractors is essential to the protection of the public health.
