225 ILCS 435/23

Known as the Ferries Act

When it shall be necessary, for the establishment or use of any ferry, to take or damage private property, for a landing, ferryhouse, or approach to any ferry, proceedings may be had for that purpose under any act that may then be in force for the exercise of the right of eminent domain, subject to all restrictions that may be prescribed by law.
