Home rule

Known as the Interpreter for the Deaf Licensure Act

The act spans §§ 225-443-1 to 225-443-999 (51 sections).

The regulation and licensing of the practice of interpreting are exclusive powers and functions of the State. A home rule unit may not regulate or license interpreters for the deaf. This Section is a denial and limitation of home rule powers and functions under subsection (h) of Section 6 of Article VII of the Illinois Constitution.
