Powers and duties of the Department

Known as the Interpreter for the Deaf Licensure Act

(a) The Department shall exercise the powers and duties prescribed by the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois for the administration of licensing Acts that are consistent with its duties, as set forth in this Act. (b) The Department shall adopt rules consistent with its duties, as set forth in this Act, for the enforcement and disciplinary provisions of this Act. (c) The Department may seek the advice and expert knowledge of the Board and the Director on any matter related to the administration of this Act. (d) The Department shall conduct hearings on proceedings to refuse to issue or renew or to revoke a license or to suspend, place on probation, censure, or reprimand a person licensed under this Act. (e) The Department shall provide the Commission with the names and addresses of all persons whose licenses have been suspended, revoked, or denied renewal for cause on a monthly basis.
