Findings and recommendations

Known as the Illinois Public Accounting Act

(a) The Committee shall review the report of the hearing officer and present its findings of fact, conclusions of law, and recommendations to the Secretary. The report of the findings and recommendations of the Committee shall be the basis for the Secretary's order for refusing to issue, restore, or renew a license or registration, or otherwise discipline a licensee or registrant. (b) If the Secretary disagrees in any regard with the report of the Committee or hearing officer, the Secretary may issue an order contrary to the report. (c) The findings are not admissible in evidence against the person in a criminal prosecution brought for the violation of this Act, but the hearing and findings are not a bar to a criminal prosecution brought for the violation of this Act.
