Any person who violates this Section is guilty of a Class A misdemeanor.
225 ILCS 470/37
It is unlawful to cast, stamp, etch or otherwise mark, upon any weight or measure or weighing or measuring device, the type of which has not been approved as required by this Act, any design or device simulating a serial number required by Section 36 of this Act
