Inactive licenses

Known as the Massage Therapy Practice Act

The act spans §§ 225-57-1 to 225-57-950 (43 sections).

Any massage therapist who notifies the Department in writing on forms prescribed by the Department may elect to place his or her license on inactive status and shall, subject to rules of the Department, be excused from payment of renewal fees until he or she notifies the Department in writing of his or her desire to resume active status. A massage therapist requesting restoration from inactive status shall be required to pay the current renewal fee and shall be required to restore his or her license as provided in Section 70 of this Act. Any massage therapist whose license is on inactive status shall not practice massage therapy in the State, and any practice conducted shall be deemed unlicensed practice.
