225 ILCS 725/15

Any permit to drill a well for oil or gas shall expire one year from the date of issuance unless acted upon prior thereto by the commencement of drilling operations which are to be continued with due diligence

Known as the Illinois Oil and Gas Act

The act spans §§ 225-725-1 to 225-725-9-1 (64 sections).

It shall in all respects be subject to the provisions of this Act and the rules, regulations, limitations and penalties herein provided or which may hereafter be adopted for the drilling, operation or plugging of oil or gas wells, or other drilling operations.
