"Current Service": The period beginning on the day an employee first becomes a participating employee and ending on the day of the latest separation from service of all participating municipalities, and instrumentalities thereof, and participating instrumentalities, but excluding all intervening periods during which the employee was separated from the service of all participating municipalities and instrumentalities thereof, and participating instrumentalities.
