Junior Deputy Sheriff Act
- 55 ILCS 115/0.01— Short title
- 55 ILCS 115/1— The county board of each county may appropriate not more than $10,000 per annum for the use by the county sheriff in establishing and maintaining a junior deputy sheriff program for children from 10 to 16 years of age
- 55 ILCS 115/2— Before such appropriation is approved, the sheriff must present to the county board his outline of how the junior deputy sheriff program will operate
- 55 ILCS 115/3— At least once each month, the sheriff shall hold meetings of the junior deputy sheriff program at such places in the county as he deems necessary
- 55 ILCS 115/4— Identification cards, in a form prepared or approved by the county sheriff, shall be presented to all children who attend these meetings
- 55 ILCS 115/5— The county sheriff may establish programs of awards for attendance, participation and achievement in order to encourage children to actively participate in the junior deputy sheriff program
