Known as the Ridesharing Arrangements Act

The act spans §§ 625-30-1 to 625-30-6 (6 sections).

No unit of local government, whether or not it is a home rule unit, may: (1) license or regulate ridesharing arrangements; (2) impose any tax or fee upon the owner or operator of a motor vehicle because of its use in a ridesharing arrangement; (3) prohibit or regulate the charging of fees for ridesharing arrangements in accordance with Section 6 of this Act. This Act is declared to be a denial and limitation of the powers of home rule units pursuant to paragraph (g) of Section 6 of Article VII of the Illinois Constitution.
