Any municipality with a population of 500,000 or more, by ordinance may provide for a board of plumbing examiners (1) to conduct examinations for journeyman plumbers and master plumbers, (2) to register plumbers' apprentices, and (3) to issue and revoke plumber's licenses within such a municipality.
