65 ILCS 5/11-4-15

Laws 1961, p. 576.

In any such city, which prior to July 1, 1871, established a bridewell for the confinement of convicted persons, such institution shall, immediately upon the appointment of the inspectors in this Division 4 contemplated, be known and denominated as the house of correction of the city in which it is located.
