65 ILCS 5/11-68-4

P.A. 83-388.

The board of stadium and athletic field commissioners elected pursuant to the provisions of this Division 68 shall: (1) select a suitable site of not more than 10 acres in area, within or without the city, for a stadium and athletic field for the city; (2) acquire title to the site so selected by accepting a donation or legacy or by purchase or condemnation under the eminent domain laws of this State; (3) erect a stadium on the site so selected and lay it out as an athletic field for the use of the public; (4) maintain, manage, and control the stadium and athletic field and make and enforce proper rules and regulations for its beneficial use.
