65 ILCS 5/7-3-8

Whenever the boundaries of any municipality, containing part or all of any special charter school district, are changed, the clerk of such municipality shall, within 5 days after such boundary change becomes final, notify the school board of any school district which may be affected thereby and the county superintendent of schools specifying the details of such boundary change, including its effective date. Such notices shall be sent by certified mail.
