Waterworks Systems in Municipalities of Less Than 500,000

  • 65 ILCS 5/11-129-1— Any municipality with a population of less than 500,000 is authorized, as provided in this Division 129, to build, or purchase, and to operate a waterworks system or water supply system either within or without the corporate limits thereof, and also to improve or extend that system

  • 65 ILCS 5/11-129-3— The corporate authorities of any municipality availing itself of the provisions of this Division 129 shall adopt an ordinance describing in a general way the contemplated project

  • 65 ILCS 5/11-129-5— Whenever revenue bonds are issued under this Division 129, sufficient revenue received from the operation of such a waterworks or water-supply system shall be deposited in a separate fund designated as the water fund of the municipality
  • 65 ILCS 5/11-129-6— Rates charged for water by such a municipality shall be sufficient at all times to pay the cost of operation and maintenance, to provide an adequate depreciation fund, and to pay the principal of and interest upon all revenue bonds issued under this Division 129
  • 65 ILCS 5/11-129-7— This Division 129 authorizes the issuance of revenue bonds provided for in this Division 129 without submitting the proposition for the approval of the ordinance authorizing the bonds to the electors as provided in Sections 8-4-1 and 8-4-2
