Abandonment of Managerial Form

  • 65 ILCS 5/5-5-1— Petition for abandonment of managerial form; referendum; succeeding elections of officers and alderpersons or trustees
  • 65 ILCS 5/5-5-1.1— The proposition to abandon the managerial form provided in Section 5-5-1 shall not be submitted at the primary election for the municipality
  • 65 ILCS 5/5-5-2— The petition specified in Section 5-5-1 shall contain a general statement, of not more than 200 words, of the reasons for which the change is sought
  • 65 ILCS 5/5-5-3— Jurisdiction is vested in the circuit court to determine without a jury the sufficiency of the petition
  • 65 ILCS 5/5-5-4— If the court finds the petition sufficient, it shall order the proposition to be submitted at an election
