No claim for compensation shall be made or action for damages filed against a sanitary district formed under this Act on account of any damage to property occurring on or after January 1, 2012, unless notice in writing is filed with the secretary of the sanitary district's board of trustees within 6 months after the occurrence of the damage setting forth the following information: (i) the name and residence address of the owner of the property damaged, (ii) the property's location, and (iii) the probable extent of the damage sustained.
