Program

Known as the Illinois Substance Abuse Treatment Program Act

The act spans §§ 730-145-1 to 730-145-5 (5 sections).

The program shall include a thirty day treatment program of highly structured activities to instruct the substance abuser in healthy living skills, dynamics of substance abuse patterns and personalities, and to aid the abuser in a personal inventory of patterns. Peer counselors shall be active in providing support and assistance to the inmates participating in this program. Peer counselors must have successfully graduated from the program demonstrating exceptional participation and healthy leadership ability. Inmates who successfully complete all assignments within the program will be considered graduates. Each graduate will be awarded a Certificate of Achievement and a Guides for Better Living Certificate.
