775 ILCS 15/2

Unless the context clearly requires otherwise, the following terms have the meanings ascribed to them herein: (a) "financial institution" means any State-chartered bank, trust company, savings and loan association, building and loan association, mortgage lending firm, or other similar institution; (b) "governmental agency" means the State of Illinois and each of its instrumentalities and the political subdivisions of the State and each of their instrumentalities; (c) "person" means a natural person, corporation, partnership, association or other entity; and (d) "shipping company" means a person who or which is engaged in the business of transporting passengers or goods from one point to another for valuable consideration.
