Sec. 12. A school corporation may adopt regulations governing the payment or part payment of teachers and then make payments in accordance with those regulations to teachers who are absent because of:
(1) sickness;
(2) attending school conventions or meetings;
(3) visiting other schools; or
(4) a death in the immediate family.
