Duties of county health departments

County departments of health shall:

(1) Administer and enforce in the county and in all cities and towns situated therein, except as otherwise provided by law, all applicable public health laws of the Commonwealth and all of the rules and regulations of the secretary of the Cabinet for Health and Family Services and county board of health issued thereunder;

(2) Under the general supervision of the county board of health and the Cabinet for Health and Family Services, formulate, promote, establish, and execute policies, plans, and programs to safeguard the health of the people of the county and establish, maintain, implement, promote, and conduct facilities and services for the purpose of protecting the public health; and (3) Make such statistical or other reports relating to the activities of the department as they may deem expedient or as may be required by the county board of health or the Cabinet for Health and Family Services.
