Duties of district health departments

Known as the Kentucky District Health Department Act

District health departments shall:

(1) Administer and enforce in the district, except as otherwise provided by law, all applicable public health laws of the Commonwealth and all rules and regulations of the Cabinet for Health and Family Services and the rules and regulations of the district board of health;

(2) With the advice of the district board of health and the cabinet, formulate, promote, establish, and execute policies, plans, and programs to safeguard the health of the people; and (3) Make such statistical or other studies and reports relating to the activities of the cabinet as may be deemed expedient or as may be required by the district board of health or the cabinet.
