Second assistant district attorney

Added by Acts 1968, No. 265, §1.

A. The office of second assistant district attorney of the Twenty-Second Judicial District of Louisiana is hereby created.

B.(1) The second assistant district attorney shall receive as compensation for his services as such officer, in addition to the annual salary paid by the state of Louisiana, a salary of two thousand four hundred dollars per year, payable on his own warrant. The additional salary shall be paid by the parishes comprising the Twenty-Second Judicial District of Louisiana, apportioned as follows:

(a) By the parish of St. Tammany, the sum of one thousand two hundred dollars per year.

(b) By the parish of Washington, the sum of one thousand two hundred dollars per year.

(2) Provided, in lieu of the payment by the respective parishes as set forth in Paragraph (1) of this Subsection, the said additional salary may be paid from the criminal court funds of the respective parishes where the money is available from said funds, all according to law.

C. The office of second assistant district attorney shall not be filled until such time as there has been appropriated or funds have otherwise been made available to pay that portion of his salary required by law to be paid by the state.
