Mass. Gen. Laws ch. 143, § 83

Machines to which cinematograph statutes are not applicable; regulations

Sections seventy-two to seventy-five, inclusive, shall not apply to any motion picture machine operated with only cellulose acetate film less than thirty-five millimeters and requiring not more than five hundred watts of electrical current to operate the arc or lamp.
