Mass. Gen. Laws ch. 146, § 20

Safety appliances for, and inspection of, heating boilers

Boilers and their appurtenances used exclusively for heating purposes, which are not required by this chapter to be inspected, shall be provided with such safety appliances as shall be prescribed by the board, and the division shall inspect such boilers upon application of the owner.
