Blood donations; leave of absence without loss of pay

Any employee of the commonwealth, of any county, and of any city or town which accepts the provisions of this section, shall be allowed a leave of absence without loss of pay of not more than eight hours in each calendar year for the purpose of donating platelets, plasma white cells or whole blood to any cancer research center.
