Mass. Gen. Laws ch. 159, § 30

Defects; information by employee; protection of source

An employee may make written complaint to the department of a defect in the ways, works, machinery or appliances, or any car or vehicle, of a railroad, railway or other carrier of passengers under its jurisdiction, and the name of the complainant shall not be divulged.
