Mass. Gen. Laws ch. 176P, § 30

Exemption from attachment or execution

Money or other benefit, charity, or relief or aid, to be paid, provided or rendered by any society, shall not be attached or taken upon execution or other process or by operation of law to pay any debt or liability of a member or beneficiary, or of any other person who may have a right thereunder, either before or after payment. This section shall not be applicable to any indebtedness charged against the member's certificate under the authority of section 16.
