The commission shall meet at least once a month, on the second Monday, and may meet more often as the members may determine. The members shall be reimbursed for expenses incurred in connection with their duties and the appointed members of the commission shall, subject to appropriation, receive in addition to their expenses, fifty dollars per day for each day or part thereof of service to said commission.
