Registers of deeds shall perform the same duties relative to the filing and entering of copies of writs and other papers in actions commenced in the courts of the United States which affect the title to land by attachment or otherwise as are required relative to the filing and entering of such papers in such actions commenced in the courts of the commonwealth.
