Mass. Gen. Laws ch. 231, § 140C

Settlement or partial payment by insurer as admission of liability

No settlement or partial payment made under a liability insurance policy of a claim against any person insured thereunder shall be construed as an admission of liability by such person, with respect to any claim arising from the same event.
