Mass. Gen. Laws ch. 33, § 14

Aides-de-camp

The aides-de-camp of the commander-in-chief shall consist of such appointed or detailed aides as the commander-in-chief deems necessary. Officers detailed under this section shall not be relieved from their ordinary national guard duties and may be removed at any time by and in the sole discretion of the commander-in-chief.
