Mass. Gen. Laws ch. 53, § 103

Nomination papers; correction of errors

If an error or informality is found in any nomination paper, it shall be forthwith returned to the secretary of the committee by whom it was filed, for correction; and if not corrected and again filed before five o'clock in the afternoon of the day following its return to said secretary, it shall be void.
