Mass. Gen. Laws ch. 56, § 50

Alteration or removal of ballots

Whoever alters a ballot cast at a primary or caucus or, not being authorized thereto, deposits a ballot in a ballot box, container or envelope used at a primary or caucus, or removes a ballot from such ballot box, container or envelope, shall be punished by imprisonment in jail for not more than two and one half years.
