A manufacturer, merchant, jobber, or trader who keeps for the purpose of sale, offers or exposes for sale, or sells any such units of thread which either are not marked or do not weigh or measure as provided in sections two hundred and eighty-five to two hundred and eighty-seven, inclusive, shall be punished by a fine of not more than fifty dollars.
