Announcing an election

PL 1997, c. 436, §83 (NEW)

The Secretary of State shall send a notice of election to the municipal clerk, who shall announce the election as follows.

1. Notice posted. The clerk shall post or have posted a notice of election, attested by the clerk, in a conspicuous public place in the municipality at least 21 days immediately before election day and at each voting place on election day.

2. Notice recorded. The clerk shall record a copy of the notice along with the times and places of posting.
