After June 30, 1998, members to whom one or more of sections 17708 to 17712‑B apply and to whom section 17851‑A, subsection 1 also applies must contribute to the State Employee and Teacher Retirement Program or have pick-up contributions made as provided in section 17851‑A, subsection 5.
