Mich. Comp. Laws § 125.410

Sec. 10. Time for compliance. All improvements specifically required by this act upon dwellings erected prior to the date of its passage shall be made within 1 year from said date, or at such earlier period as may be fixed by the health officer or other authorized enforcement official.
