Sec. 6. (1) Funds for the operation of the commission may be loaned or granted by the governing body. The governing body may condition the provision of funds to the commission upon an agreement that the commission shall as soon as possible reimburse the incorporating unit for all money expended by it for the commission from revenues received from the sale of bonds. (2) A commission may solicit, accept, and enter into agreements relating to, grants from any public or private source, including the state or federal government or any agency of the state or federal government, and may carry out any federal or state program related to the purposes for which the commission is created. The governing body of an incorporating unit may adopt a resolution that requires approval by the governing body before the commission may accept or enter into agreements relating to 1 or more types of grants.
